Paneer and bell recipe
This recipe was made by my beloved maternal grandmum, my darling nani. I can confidently say my home-cooking is incomplete without this beautiful recipe which I will share today. Super easy to make, it's can be a side dish or your favourite go-to dish on school nights!
It is simple, succulent and has minimal spices but a whole lot of flavours especially for paneer lovers who want to taste the paneer in every bite. So here goes!
Ingredients
- 200 gm Paneer, cut in cubes
- 2 pepper (green, red, or yellow) roughly chopped
- One tsp cumin seeds
- One medium white onion – sliced
Spices
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander power
- ½ tsp of garam masala
- Pinch of asafoetida/ hing
-1 tsp Garam masala to garnish
- Hand full of coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- One green chilli – slit (optional)
Method
Please take a non stick pan or karai, and and heat oil on medium heat.
Add the cumin seeds and asafoetida.
Once the cumin seeds sizzle and there is a fragrance, add the sliced onions.
Sautee the onions until, and they turn the colour pink and and add the all the spices and cook for 2 minutes. Please do not add the garam masala and leave it for the last.
Add the paneer, lower the flame, put the lid on and cook for 5-6 minutes. Keep mixing everything together now and then but don't break the paneer.

6. Add the peppers and cook for another 5 minutes without the lid. Cook and mix everything well.
7. Add the garam masala and coriander leaves.
8. Switch the burner off.
Serve! Hope you enjoy making this easy recipe!
